Captain Purple's Silly Song by Song Drag Review

Kung Fu Kitten Plenty of Faster Pussycat Kill Kill attitude is here. Slow starts lead to wild acceleration.
Sleeping Pill The Lunachicks later did a great song on the same subject called Insomnia. Terri really needs those pills to be that calm. She nags even better than Courtney Love, and that is rather deadly.
Lethal Lolita This has a very trashy thematic guitar riff. Debi sings rather seductively here with a tinge of old blues. Bits of slide guitar punctuate the lyrics.
Hot Rod The incredibly expressive guitars sound like engines revving-up. The guitars really do the talking here. Kerry (pretending to be an over-excited car) screams out auto-mechanic lingo to give the song a Beach Boys type twist. This hot rodder smokes.
Sleeping on the Wet Spot This is an inspired C&W style song with incredibly trasy slide guitar. Debi sings calmly the amazing lyrics. A burp ends the song.
Route 66 *ucken 6 Kerry sings rather well on this blues song. The sleazy slide guitar and Lesley's expressive blues drumming add plenty of bump n' grind.
Lonely Beer Drops Lesley gives a herky-jerky drumbeat. Terri nags in an incredible fashion here while the rest of the band argues with her. A countdown occurs in the middle.
Built for a Barstool Debi sings the blues. The song fluctuates between creepy blues and insanely fast raveup. The guitars add plenty of feeling here switching from moody grind to an amazingly accelerated twang.
Luz Lesley yells abrasively here. Do you remember the Bobby Soxer Riding Hood that annoyed Buggs Bunny?
Teach me to Kill This is catchy song with fine lyrics and an old melody. The twangy guitar adds kick between lyrics.
My Cat Scratch Bizarre insect-like vocals occur in the middle and end of the song. More twang is added to the guitar grind near the end.
Sweet Enough Terri gives her incredible nagging scream again here
Fly Ford Comet/Ho Choice The band screws up the beginning of the song. A rude interruption is followed by a Penelope Pitstop style hair comment. This sounds like two songs played at once. Leaving this crazy performance on the record only add to the fun. Bands that rarely mess up are so boring. Bands that accidently (not on purpose) break their own equipment rock in the wildest fashion. Such primitive recordings are rare.
Sex Zombie Introduced by spooky sound effects. Debi yells the demented lyrics tunelessly. The guitars and drums are incredibly herky-jerky. This is definitely not in the goth, metal or horror-rock styles. It is not so safe.
Hard-Hearted Hannah The Red Aunts give a totally gonzo cover of the Ray Charles classic. Of course Nancy Sinatra's fine version is merely a sweet lullaby. This one starts out quite bluesy with a dash of extra spice and goes hyperactive. An extra minute of trashy guitar wanking with fade-out/fade-in is added to the end.
